About Super 8

Super 8 is our exciting 2025 KZN-led yearling ownership package — a concept built on real results and genuine passion for racing. Held at the final yearling sale of the season, the Super 8 gives you the chance to own a carefully selected young thoroughbred just weeks before they officially become 2-year-olds.

From there, things move quickly — and thrillingly. Once purchased, your yearling heads straight into the expert hands of our pre-training team, where they begin what we like to call their "primary school" phase — learning the fundamentals and being prepped for life on the track. Throughout this journey, you’re not just watching from the sidelines.

You'll be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group where updates, photos, and videos bring the process to life. Even better? We encourage you to pick up the phone and call the trainer directly — this is your horse, and your experience.

As your horse graduates from pre-training to the racetrack — or as we say, from primary to high school — the excitement intensifies. The countdown to that first race begins, and you're part of every step.

From yard visits to race day roars, Super 8 is about inclusion, access, and pure racing joy. Whether it’s your first horse or your fiftieth, the thrill never fades. Join the journey. Experience the Super 8.

Glistian Events is returning to the 2025 KZN Yearling Sale — one of the key dates on South Africa’s thoroughbred calendar — and we’re inviting you to be part of something exceptional.

With a once-off payment of $14,963 USD, you’ll secure a 2.5% share in each of 8 hand-selected, well-bred yearlings sourced directly from this respected sale. Your single investment covers all ownership costs — including training, vet care, pre-training, transport, and admin — right through to 1 September 2027. No hidden fees. No monthly invoices. Just pure, shared ownership.

After That? On 1 September 2027, you’ll have the option to renew your ownership for another year.

The Process

 - All 8 horses will be purchased at the BSA KZN Yearling sale on the 3rd of July 2025.

- After the sale, the yearlings will enter our in-house pre training program. This program has been the key to our success over the years.

The Journey

From the moment they arrive at their pre-training, a WhatsApp Group will be created for each individual horse. These groups will then have the full journey of each yearling from pre-training right through to racing and race days. These groups are regularly updated and make owning racehorses with Glistian highly enjoyable and interactive!

Testimonials

S´manga Khumalo

"As a jockey, you get to know very quickly which horses have had the right upbringing — and the ones from this team stand out. They’re not just talented; they’re calm, well-balanced, and incredibly easy to handle, both at home and on race day. That kind of temperament doesn’t happen by chance — it’s a result of the care, patience, and attention they’re given from the beginning. You can feel the difference the moment you sit on them. Consistency is key when it comes to horse racing, and the winners that I've ridden for Glistian is not just based on my ability, but also on the level of horses they've allowed me to sit aboard. Whoop Whoop!"

Ryan Moore (endorsing Herman Brown Jn.)

Champion Jockey & Global Great Ryan Moore is one of the most respected and successful jockeys in international horse racing. A multiple-time British Champion Jockey and the go-to rider for Aidan O’Brien and the Coolmore powerhouse, Moore has won virtually every major race across the globe — including the Derby, Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Breeders’ Cup, and Japan Cup. Renowned for his tactical brilliance, composure under pressure, and razor-sharp instincts, Moore’s endorsement of any trainer or horse carries weight — and when he backs Herman Brown, the industry listens.

Piere Strydom (Endorsing Glistian Events))

"I’ve ridden over 5,600 winners in my career as a professional jockey, so I’ve seen a lot in racing — and I can honestly say these are the kind of people you want to be involved with. They’re professional, genuine, and have a deep respect for the horses and the sport. Whether it’s how they place their horses, manage their team, or handle the day-to-day, they do it all with integrity and a real understanding of what it takes to succeed in this game. You don’t just feel like a name on a racecard when you ride for them — you’re part of something well-run and well thought out. In an industry where trust and judgment matter, they stand out for all the right reasons. I'm privileged to have ridden a Grade 1 winner for this team, and I know there's plenty more of that in their future."

Warren Kennedy (endorsing Tony Peter)

“Being associated with Tony and Paul Peter has been one of the most important factors in my career, and I can say without a doubt that his influence was instrumental in helping me become Champion Jockey in South Africa. Their approach to training is something special — the way they understand each horse as an individual, how they place them in the right races, and their attention to detail in every aspect of preparation is unbelievable. Tony’s knowledge of horses, both from a physical and mental perspective, is second to none, and his ability to bring the best out of them time and time again is what sets him apart."
